I had no clue what was going on. It was one of those shoots. The wife talked to Tara and suddenly we’re there taking pics… The people at the church were cool. They had some problems grasping what on earth we see in a burnt building… I see chaos.

This post will hopefully turn up when someone types John Robert Powers into google. This is a company that profits by stealing from those that dream.

You might have seen them working in the mall. You walk by when suddenly some way-to-skinny person hands you some information and says, “You should model!”

They just want your money. They work by selling lessons and by charging fees for representation. A real agency will NEVER charge an upfront fee. If they think you have potential they will represent you and earn their money by working for you. If you book a paying job they take a cut of your earnings.

Scumbag agency, J.R.P. really has a scheme going here. He makes money on people who think they are getting representation. He goes further than a regular agency in that he can steal money from those that can not act and people who will never be models. He charges for the dream. He sends you or your children to expensive classes and he charges them for photograph insisting that you use his photographers. In a democracy you choose your own photographer… why not me?

It’s all about the money. Have a look at RipoffReport.com. There are over 100 reports filed. I find it hard to belive that scams businesses like this are allowed to stay in business.

Stay away from this company. You heard it here. If I ever catch John Robert Powers in a dark alley… Actually, he’s already dead… I hope he is enjoying all that filthy money in his grave.

Beware of John Casablanca as well.

We were able to use Denis Wayne’s studio. Here are some interesting (our opinion) photos from that evening.

The camera was used on a tripod and most of the exposures were at least as slow as 1/30th of a second. Some were even 1 second or more. I didn’t put any of the images into photoshop. I only did a simple black and white conversion. I’m not one to do much editing anyway!

I’ve been thinking about this police officer I photographed in Pikeville, KY this year. A couple of years ago I noticed him officer leaving a small diner called the Happy Day Cafe. I grabbed my camera and snapped this shot:

There was something interesting about this guy. I take all kinds of candid people shots but this guy was on my mind more than the others. This year when I returned I was wandering around the park when I found myself wondering about the officer. As soon as I turned around he was there… holding his grand daughter. He came up and started talking to me. We shared a few laughs and some stories before I took a picture of him holding his granddaughter. It was clear that she was his source of joy. I left with something very warm. I’m sure I’ll see him the next time I’m in the area.

I was talking to a friend earlier this month. She doesn’t want kids because all the work involved. After seeing the look in this mans eyes when he looked at his granddaughter I knew that all the work was worth it.
